Job Description
MUST HAVE MANUFACTURING EXPERIENCE!!!
Financial Analyst will apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports and reconciliations. Will handle accounting and reporting for all areas related to inventory and costing and pricing of commercial product along with development and pipeline projects. Ideal candidate will be highly motived, show initiative, possess excellent communication and detail orientation skills and analytical ability.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAnalyzes changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs.Communicates information effectively and translates financial data into meaningful information that supports business decision making.Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare month-end adjusting and closing entries to accounts along with reconciliations and year to date roll-forwards of activityHandles processing of corporate purchase orders along with analysis of vendor contracts and open purchasing activity.Maintain accurate costing methodology in an ERP and manual systemMaintain standard cost system to ensure accuracy of inventory valuation and lead annual manufacturing cost standard updates and analyze variances to standard costsWork with other departments to set up a review of open purchase orders for the company to be able to accurately estimate monthly, quarterly and year end accruals.General ledger reconciliation responsibility for all inventory and cost of goods sold accountsInteract with external auditors to ensure audit activities are executed in a timely manner.Identify areas for process improvements, efficiencies, and establish SOPsParticipate in the annual budgeting process, including preparation of standard costsCollaborates with the other finance team members to support overall department goals and objectives.Manage the Purchasing function after an initial three to six month period which includes a BuyerAssist with special projects and research projects as assignment by management team.Other duties as assignedExperience preparing monthly account reconciliations and KPI reporting for inventory, COGS and variances with standard costs for internal reporting and for the financial auditERP experience with Great Plains strongly preferredStrong Microsoft Excel skillsAbility to bridge communication between Finance, Supply Chain and Commercial FunctionsExcellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesExceptional self-management abilityProcess improvement mindsetTeam-oriented
