Job Summary:The Executive Assistant will provide a wide range of administrative and executive level support to the SVP, Government Affairs & Washington Ops. The ideal candidate will be experienced in handling a wide range of administrative related tasks and will be able to work independently with little or no supervision. This person must be exceedingly well organized, flexible and enjoy administrative challenges of driving actions to completion.

Crucial to this role is the ability to interact with staff (at all levels) in a business environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Expert level written and verbal communication skills, strong decision-making ability and attention to detail are equally important.

Responsibilities:Manage calendars, requiring interaction with internal and external executives and assistants, and coordinate a variety of complex executive meetings.Provide administrative support to Executive Branch and Legislative Branch teams within Washington, DC Operations.Coordinate logistics and provide support for meetings, conferences, calls and other events pertaining to Textron efforts.Arrange travel schedules, expenses and reservations as needed.Assist teams with preparation of presentation materials.Interact with internal and external vendors and customers, executives and assistants, to coordinate and track a variety of meetings, association events and hearings.Interface with senior and business unit personnel across organizations.Demonstrate knowledge of company policies and procedures by answering, referring or directing requests and inquiries.Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously and follow through on issues in a timely manner.Sort and route department mail and deliveries as required.Process departmental invoices as needed.Manage record retention for all department documents, including filing, storage, retrieval and destruction of records as necessary.Willingness and flexibility to work and/or travel outside of normal business hours occasionally as necessary.Provide administrative support, phone coverage, to other executives/senior management as needed.Perform such other duties as may be assigned.Protect and maintain the privacy of employee personnel records including, but not limited to, personal and compensation information about employees.

Skills/Competencies:Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePointSuperior organizational skillsHigh level of confidentiality, integrity, and trustExcellent communication skillsStrong customer service skillsStrong problem solving and prioritization skills.High level of energy and positive attitudeDemonstrate initiative and identify opportunities for process improvement.

Education/Experience:Minimum of a High School diplomaDemonstrated professional experience in an administrative support role preferably at the executive level and/or in a government environment.
