As a Sr. Automation Tester, your primary responsibility is to design, develop, and execute automated tests to ensure the quality and functionality of software products. You will work closely with the development team to understand product requirements and design test cases that cover various scenarios. Your role involves creating and maintaining automated test scripts using testing frameworks and tools. Additionally, you will analyze test results, identify defects, and collaborate with the development team to resolve issues. Continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiencies and effectiveness is also a key aspect of your role.

What is the position?

Cognosante is seeking an experienced Sr. Automation Tester with a history of delivering high caliber results with high client satisfaction. The successful candidate must be energetic, communicative, intelligent, motivated, and have a passion and aptitude for ensuring software quality. The Sr. Automation Tester will have experience and knowledge to design, code, test, debug, and document software in a variety of programming languages and will have the knowledge of the latest programming languages and techniques. Additionally, the Sr. Software Engineer will have experience in creating strategies for developing IT systems and applications. Has experience in evaluating alternative and selecting optimal approaches and will create and improve the existing suite of automation tests and overall automation framework at the direction of the Testing Manager. This individual will act on behalf of business stakeholders, playing a key role on Agile Scrum development teams, collaborating closely with developers and other stakeholders to understand functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and technical and security concerns, and will implement automated testing in support of DevOps best practices. They will ensure that testing artifacts are maintained appropriately, as required by the applicable SDLC processes. They must scope and define test plans for the team in support of overall program roadmaps, releases, and sprints. Superior communication and collaboration skills are essential to this role. The ideal candidate will have a knowledge of VA, Community Care, and VIP.

This role is a temporary position with high potential to transition to full time.

What qualifications do I need?

Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required, 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education5 years relevant experience requiredExperience testing in UNIX/LINUX or Windows environmentsExperience in the coordination and execution of test events in accordance with approved test plans, procedures, and scriptsAble to work in fast-paced Agile development environmentMust have knowledge and skills to ensure that test environments are set up accuratelyMust be able to create test reportsMust be able to test IT hardware, software, systems, and networksExperience with automated tester experience using tools such as Cypress, Jira, Xray, Ready API, Postman, SOAP UI, Selenium, and Groovy scripting experience

Compensation

$96,760.98 - $154,817.56

The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may be taken into consideration - contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience. The estimate displayed represents the salary range for this position and is just one component of Cognosante’s total compensation package for employees.
