Medical Biller
to join our client's team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing medical claims, billing patients and insurance companies and following up on outstanding balances. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing and collections, excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
Medical Biller Responsibilities:
Review and verify accuracy of patient demographic and insurance information for billing purposesPrepare and submit medical claims to insurance companies, government payers and other third-party payers in a timely mannerFollow up on outstanding claims and denied or rejected claims to ensure prompt resolution and maximize reimbursementResearch and resolve billing discrepancies, coding errors and other issues impacting claim processing and paymentGenerate patient statements and invoices, and assist patients with questions regarding their bills and insurance coverageCollaborate with clinical and administrative staff to obtain necessary documentation and information for billing purposesMaintain accurate and up-to-date records of billing and collections activities, including payment posting and adjustmentsAdhere to billing and coding guidelines, regulatory requirements and organizational policies and procedures
Medical Biller Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred3+ years of experience in medical billing and collections in a healthcare settingProficiency in medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systemsStrong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS coding systemsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, insurance companies and colleaguesDetail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of insurance billing and reimbursement processes, including Medicare and Medicaid, preferred
