RT&T, a joint venture of InDyne, Inc. and Amentum Services, Inc. is the prime contractor to support the Atlantic Range Technical Support Services (ARTSS) for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) headquartered in Patuxent River, MD, and with locations in Maryland, Virginia, and California.
ARTSS supports Atlantic Test Ranges (ATR) and Atlantic Targets and Marine Operations (ATMO) in research and development, engineering, maintenance, operation, support of facilities, systems, and equipment in order to meet the engineering development and operational testing and fleet training missions for some of the world's premier systems. Our work with the U.S. Navy keeps the warfighter safe by testing systems before they are used in combat, and we are hiring personnel to support this important mission.
Background Information:
This full-time position will serve as a member of the PCDS team within the Range Systems Branch at the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) in Patuxent River, Maryland. This position will provide software engineering support to multiple projects at ATR. As a key member of a small team, you will play a vital role in the entire software development lifecycle from planning and design, development, testing, documentation, and user support. The Computer Scientist, Journeyman will work in a rewarding technical environment at the forefront of Naval Test & Evaluation (T&E) supporting the needs of today's warfighter and beyond.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) for assigned projectsDesign, develop, test, and document software solutionsCollaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders to ensure project successProvide technical support and guidance to users, both in-person and remotelyConduct independent research to resolve complex technical issuesWork effectively in both individual and team environmentsUtilize debugging tools and techniques within Visual Studio to identify and resolve software defectsMaintain proficiency and adapt quickly to new technologies, including working within an environment with limited internet access while on travelNote: This job description describes the general nature of the duties and requirements of the job. Required Education, Experience, Skills, & Certifications/Licenses:
BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering from a school where the degree curriculum was accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)Minimum of three (3) years of work experience performing the stated or similar functionIn lieu of a BS Degree, a High School diploma or equivalent GED and a total of nine (9) years of work experience performing the stated or similar function is requiredCompTIA Security+ certification is requiredProven experience with C++, JAVA, or other non-interpreted object-oriented programming languagesExperience using Git version controlProven ability to work well with a team of software engineers with specifications, designs, technologies, and operational implementations of software solutionsAble to work within a large existing code baseGeneral networking skills requiredShould have familiarity with Windows development environments (Visual Studio, etc.)Must have general computer maintenance skills (hardware/software installation and troubleshooting)Knowledge of Windows Operations Systems is requiredShould be self-motivated, able to work independently, and ask questions as needed with the ability to leverage the internet to locate resolutions to problemsPossess a valid driver's license and be able to pass drug screeningsClearance Requirements:
Currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain the proper US DoD issued security clearance, which requires US Citizenship. Security clearance eligibility may be discussed during the interview phase.Employment and start date is contingent upon the candidate receiving the required US DoD issued interim security clearance.Work Conditions:
