Job DescriptionWe are currently seeking an exceptionally talented Senior Systems Engineer with a strong background in virtualization technologies and system administration. This role is pivotal for ensuring the security, efficiency, and reliability of IT services that support significant government functions. The chosen candidate will be instrumental in designing, deploying, and managing our extensive virtual infrastructure, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to meet and surpass mission-critical demands.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation of system architectures, ensuring robustness, scalability, and security.Expert management of VMware environments, including vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and VMware Horizon VDI, across various sites.Develop and maintain golden images for Microsoft Windows, ensuring rapid deployment and standardization.Administer HP Thin Clients and manage devices using HP Device Manager.Utilize VMware App Volume for efficient application packaging and distribution.Oversee the operation of VMware Unified Access Gateway to secure remote access.Conduct capacity planning and technical strategy for enterprise-level systems.Guide the system development lifecycle from conception through to maintenance.Manage PKI certificates and keys, ensuring secure system operations.Utilize the Atlassian suite for project management and team collaboration.Communicate effectively across teams, adapting to new challenges with an agile mindset.Requirements
8+ years of experience in system administration, with a focus on VMware technologies.Proficient in Linux environments, including troubleshooting and script automation with JavaScript.Advanced knowledge of VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and VMware Horizon VDI.Experience in creating and managing Microsoft Windows golden images.Familiarity with HP Thin Clients and device management.Expertise in VMware App Volume and Unified Access Gateway.Skilled in system capacity planning and technical strategy for distributed systems.Extensive experience across the system development lifecycle.Knowledgeable in PKI certificate management and Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo).Excellent communication skills and adaptability to agile development practices.Highly Desired:
Understanding of network communications and enterprise storage.Familiarity with VMware or Hyper-V, Linux commands, Microsoft Active Directory, and GPOs.Experience with VMware PowerCLI and Microsoft PowerShell.Knowledge of project management principles.Preferred Certifications:
Certifications from Atlassian, Microsoft, Cisco, Linux, VMware, ITIL, Cloudera.Specialized training in Jira, Confluence, and other relevant technologies.Benefits
