Headquartered in LosAngeles, California with over 100 offices and more than 80correspondent offices, our commitment to providing relentless,customized service is the foundation of our consistent growthOur Legal Department is seeking a Vice President, Litigation Attorneywho will provide effective, responsive, and strategic legal advice onsecurities, capital markets, and other company matters. It ispreferred that this role is in Los Angeles or the Southern Californiaarea. This position is open to hybrid work.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Represent Wedbush in FINRA arbitration or State or Federal Courtmatters, effectively manage entire case from commencement toresolution or trialSupport the Firm’s transactional practice including drafting,reviewing, managing and negotiating vendor and other third-party contractsWork collaboratively and effectively with the ComplianceDepartment and other members of the Legal Department to collaborateon litigation prevention strategies and to ensure a positiverelationship with firm regulatorsManage the conduct of legal proceedings, including negotiations;managing reputational risk; selecting and instructing local externalcounsel; and ongoing management of related legal costsAdvise on disputes across all jurisdictions at the firm whileassessing risk and applying sound ethical judgment regarding conductof personnel, escalating, managing and reporting issuesOversee paralegals in litigation matters and in responding tosubpoenas and other document requestsPrepare business and corporate transaction documents such ascontracts, leases, buy-sell agreements, operating agreements, andrelated documentsCollaborate with other attorneys, with respect to advice andcounsel to business partnersPerform other tasks and duties as required and assignedExperience and Skills

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited universityStrong academic credentials, including a J.D. and license topractice law in California5+ years of experience in litigation, preferably in financial services3+ years of experience in contract drafting and review preferredExperience in FINRA/SEC/financial services or other securitiesmatters, including '33 Act, '34 Act, SEC rules, and relatedconsiderations preferredStrong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skillsHighly organized and able to multi-task and manage multipleprojects and competing priorities without sacrificing accuracy or efficiencyStrong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skillsStrong communication and presentation skills – the ability torelay precise information orally and in writing to a range ofaudiences of various sizes up to the level of regional senior managementAbility and preparedness to take the lead in making appropriaterecommendations to senior members of managementAbility to deliver high levels of client service with aclient-focused perspectiveThe ability to work flexibly, decisively, and under tight time anddemanding conditions to manage a broad range of issues and to workwith stakeholders at all levelsAbility to work independently and exercise sound judgment indetermining when to consult management, colleagues, and clientsExcellent verbal and interpersonal communication skillsdemonstrated by the ability to interact with all levels ofmanagement, employees and outside legal counsel and government officialsAbility to anticipate and identify issues, develop solutions, andmanage periods of heavy work demandsWhat We Offer

A reasonableestimate of the current range is $190,000-$225,000. Colleagues may beeligible for additional, discretionary incentive compensation based onthe individualand the firm's performance.
