Job Overview:

Position Summary:This position will lead and support the Nikkiso Cryogenic Pumps Global Engineering Team and report directly to the Pumps President. The Vice President, Engineering will coordinate and oversee the work of the engineering team and provides leadership, support and focus while ensuring company goals are met worldwide.Responsibilities:

Provides leadership for all domestic and international engineering teams.Ensures all engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established policies and objectives.Oversees a robust engineering process and delivery timelines to keep projects on schedule and on budget.Utilizes best practice engineering methods and provides expert technical guidance for engineering initiatives.Formalize engineering rules, improving our ability to incorporate new resources and educate our personnel.Plans and directs all aspects of engineering activities and projects within the organization.Implements and maintains overall engineering objectives and initiatives.In charge of product rationalization and standardization.New product introduction process with phase gates including design for manufacturability.Utilizes best practice engineering methods and provides expert technical guidance for engineering initiatives.Responsible for generating and implementing recovery plans for past due engineering milestones to ensure test dates and contractual delivery requirements are maintained.Identify cost reduction, opportunities through value engineering initiatives in relation to engineering designs and drawings,Chase for improving durability and reliability,Direct, review, and approve product designs and engineering change requests.Ensure engineering procedures required to mitigate risk of engineering flaws in designs or drawings are in place and being executed.Conducts a continuous search of new materials, processes, and procedures to enhance and improve the product line.This list is not comprehensive, and tasks not mentioned here may be required.Implements and maintains overall engineering objectives and initiatives.Propose practical solutions to the various problems encountered by customers or manufacturing.Other DutiesPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Qualifications:

Strong operational skills in a product development and manufacturing environmentMust possess a history of strong leadership, deep practical engineering knowledge and proven record of accomplishment for timely project delivery, project management, cost control and customer satisfaction.Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and will interface closely with Quality, Project Management, Purchasing, and Operations.Bring knowledge and creativity to the position as well as have the discipline to drive results and follow established fundamental processes.Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to motivate and innovate.Technical Program ManagementKnowledge of ISO standards and engineering related administrative and filing proceduresAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and other staffExcellent communication, face customers to support sales and troubleshooting activities,Open to travel and experience dealing with international customers.Problem solving, brainstorming, customer focus.Required Experience and Education:BS Mechanical Engineering is required, MS preferred.15+ years in a progressively responsible leadership role in engineering fieldExtensive knowledge of engineering theory and design criteriaWide technical culture and knowledge of cryogenic fluids as well as Cryogenic pumps,Knowledge of pressure vessels / piping.Used to work with highly structured industries like EPCs / Marine / Automotive.Work Environmental and Physical Demands:In order to perform the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk, and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls.Jobs will generally be performed in an office environment but may require travel to a client’s office, Nikkiso production facility or industrial/construction job site.
