United Wholesale Mortgage is looking for applicants interested in stepping into Information Technology as a Scrum Master (SM). We are launching our Scrum Master Experience (Scrum Master-X) training program where you will learn all the skills necessary to become a successful Scrum Master. We will teach you how to work in an Agile environment, how to work effectively with a team of Developers, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance Analysts, Product Owners, and Team Leads as well as the ins and outs of Agile processes and coaching techniques. This program will prepare you to coach and support multiple IT teams at UWM as a Scrum Master.WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:Training in a hands-on classroom environment for 7 weeks on Agile Methodologies and the Scrum frameworkLearning how to facilitate and coach teams on the Scrum framework, pillars, and frameworkLearning about the soft skills needed to be a successful Scrum Master such as brand building, team dynamics, and coaching foundationsParticipating in hands-on facilitation sessions and weekly teach-backs to the classCompleting homework assignments, group and individual projects, exams, and quizzesLearning the expectations, standards, and systems used by a Scrum Master at UWMWorking with a mentor to help guide your transition from the training program to our IT Team
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONSMust have at least 1 year of experience working on a cross functional team as a Business Analyst, Quality Analyst, or Software Developer OR at least 1 year of experience leading a teamKnowledge of the Agile Manifesto and Agile MethodologyKnowledge of the Scrum Guide, including Scrum Values and PrinciplesPrevious experience teaching, mentoring, or training othersWillingness to be coached up on best practices and improvements as well as what it takes to learn software development and business analysisProficient in Microsoft Office 365 including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and OneNoteAbility to read and interpret data and metricsStrong drive for continuous learning and improvementExcellent written and verbal communication skillsComfortable with public speakingComfortable giving and receiving feedbackDetail orientedStrong time management skillsCritical thinking and asking questionsProblem solving skillsSelf-motivated with a strong work ethicComfortable in a fast-moving environmentAbility to multitask and adapt quicklyPositive mindsetNICE TO HAVE QUALIFICATIONSPrevious experience working in Information TechnologyExperience using work tracking tools such as Team Foundation Server (TFS) or JiraPrevious experience using Confluence
