Nesco Resource is seeking a Data Center Facilities Manager with a premier Data Center Integrator in Ashburn! This is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door with a national provider of wholesale data centers and colocation services and expand your data center network and experience.
This position provides maintenance support and management for the Data Center and campus:Maintains all mechanical, structural and directly supports safety and critical operations in the facility.Direct Supervision of the Building Engineering team and provides coordinated direction over all data center facility repairs and change/ install/ expansion efforts.This role is also responsible for diesel and water storage systems.Maintains the data center campus landscape and irrigation.Manages and schedules the facilities Building Engineers and contractors.This position reports to the Director of Operations.
*Please note, this role provides for 24x7x365 on call support to provide continuous operations**3 years' experience in a data center is a must*Experience managing others (direct reports) is a must
Essential Job Functions
Maintain 100% availability in Colocation data center critical facilityProvides supervision to the team of Building EngineersIndirect management for Data Center Support Technicians & physical securityManage staff providing schedules, training, preparedness and growthManages operation and maintenance of all environmental and power systems to ensure 100% availability to raised floors including building management system control and coordinating efforts with contractorsResponsible for customer support and satisfactionEstimates time and materials needed to complete repairs and new projectsPlan, procure, and manage installation of all systems to support computer hardware initiativesContribute to creating, tracking and maintaining operational budget for facilityDirects, oversees, supervises and inspects the work performed by outside contractorsProvides for 24x7x365 on call support to provide continuous operationsManage all contracts, procedures and service agreements to ensure proper complianceResponsible for managing maintenance work order and asset tracking software, including uploading new work orders and processes as requiredEnsures operating parameters and maintenance processes, procedures, and frequencies are adhered to, updated, and developed as necessaryMaintains all drawings, project documentation, and space planning for the siteComplies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and company directives related to building operations and work safetyResponsible for building management system control and coordinating efforts with controls contractorsWrite and track root cause of all problems and malfunctions taking corrective action and process improvements as requiredCommunicate complex technical information to multiple people with various levels of technical knowledgeResponsible for increasing efficiencies and maintaining reliability of all mechanical and electrical systemsRisk analysis and creation of scopes of work related to preventative maintenance and resolution needs on building and facility equipmentCommunicate to visitors, vendors, contractors, customers, and management dailyKnowledge/Skills required
Comprehensive knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical, industrial HVAC, and Plumbing systemsStrong team management, coaching, & leadership abilities5 years of experience in a Data Center environment, and 5 years' experience related to building management5 years' experience with building automation systems, Client Foreseer or Vigilent controls experience a plusExcellent customer serviceAble to read complex building drawings and schematicsAble to evaluate importance and urgency of projects based on cost, risk, safety, etc.High level interpersonal communication skillsDecisions made with understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlinesComprehensive knowledge of Office software packages required and abilities in AutoCAD, and/ or Visio a plusPhysical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs.High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
