We are currently inviting applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or full Professor position starting as early asFall of 2024. We seek a faculty colleague with specific expertise in organizational theory and behavior. Preferred candidates will be able to demonstrate teaching and/or research expertise in addressing health inequities from institutional, systems, policy and/or managerial perspectives, and contribute to advancing the School’s ongoing work on social justice, anti-racism, equity, diversity and inclusion. Ideally, candidates will have skills related to population health management and policy as well as knowledge of public health systems. The position is nine-month, tenure track, renewable appointments at Portland State University. Tenure track faculty are 9-month employees and represented by the PSU AAUP.
Minimum Qualifications
Doctorate in health services management, health systems, health policy, public health, or related discipline.
Commitment to social justice, educational equity and promotion of diversity in higher education and public health
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of audiences.
Beginning or developed track record of published scholarship and externally funded activity with a preferred emphasis on health systems management and policy strategies for addressing health inequities.
Experience teaching students in health system administration, organizational theory, strategic management, and/or systems-based approaches to health improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
Developing or demonstrated history of engagement and collaboration with community organizations.
Skills in population health management and policy
Knowledge of/experience working in public health systems
Experience learning or potential to lead research teams
Ability to engage undergraduate students to achieve academic excellence
Experience advising and/or mentoring first generation students and/or students of color
