As a part of our continued growth, we are searching for new Primary Care Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to join our team.
Primary Responsibilities:
Nurse Practitioner will work in a clinic setting as well as assist with home visitsExamines, diagnoses and treats patients for acute injuries, infections, and illnessesCounsels and educates patients and families about acute and chronic conditions or concernsDocuments items such as: appropriate chief complaint, past medical, family, and social history, review of systems, examinations, medications, allergies, assessment and planFormulates diagnostic and treatment plansPrescribes and administers medications, therapies, and proceduresOrders lab and imaging tests to determine and manage an immediate treatment plan and provides advice on follow upResponsible for the coordination of care with specialists and appropriate ancillary servicesCompletes all documentation and paperwork in a timely mannerMaintains quality of care standards as defined by the practice

Required Qualifications:
Advanced Nurse Practitioner Certification in Primary Care, Geriatric, Adult or Physician Assistant certificationActive unrestricted APRN or PA-C license in Nevada, or ability to obtainAbility to communicate with patients, primary care team members and management staffAbility to make care decisions based on best medical practices without direct supervision or guidance by a physicianBasic technical proficiency in the use of computer programs for medical records or internet search for clinical practiceAdvanced assessment and treatment plan implementation skillsAbility to complete clinical care lifting in a provider office environmentCurrent and unrestricted DEA certificate required or ability to obtainEffective communication skillsEffective organization skills and ability to multi-taskTakes Initiative, creative, has problem solving ability, is adaptable, and flexibleAbility to work without direct supervision and practice autonomouslyAdditional Candidate Assets Preferred but Fluency not Required as Optum Will Train:Geriatric care experienceKnowledge of mental health issues1+ years of Outpatient Clinic experienceFamiliarity with Medicare and ICD-10 codingStrong acute care experience in a primary care clinic, urgent care, or retail clinicAbility to formulate a differential diagnosisProficient in assessment and development of treatment plansAbility to conceptualize the needs for the team or department and actualize plans for implementationAbility to develop plans of action and gain team consensus towards common goalsManaged Care/IPA/Health Plan experienceBilingual in SpanishMust be able to effectively communicate with elderly and chronically ill patients and familiesUnderstanding of Medicare, Medicaid and Health Plan benefit structures beneficialComfortable working independently in a home-visit setting and clinic settingAbility to draw blood in the home for lab procedures

: The salary range for this roleis $109,513 to $147,146 per year. Salary Range is defined as total cash compensation at target. The actual range and pay mix of base and bonus is variable based upon experience and metric achievement. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
