A law firm in Trenton, NJ is seeking a Chemistry IP Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess an advanced degree in organic chemistry or have significant industrial experience in the field. This role involves drafting and prosecuting chemistry patent applications, and candidates must be experienced in the pharmaceutical industry.Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Draft and prosecute chemistry patent applicationsProvide strategic advice on patentability, validity, and infringement issuesConduct thorough patent searches and analysesCollaborate with clients to understand their innovative technologies and business goalsPrepare legal opinions and provide counsel on intellectual property mattersManage and coordinate patent portfoliosStay updated on changes in patent laws and regulationsWork closely with other attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient case managementEngage in business development activities to expand the firm's IP practiceRequirements:
Advanced degree in chemistry (Ph.D. preferred)Bar admissionRegistered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark OfficeSuperior academic credentials2-6 years of experience in drafting and prosecuting chemistry patent applicationsExperience in the pharmaceutical industry is a plusEducation:
Advanced degree in organic chemistry or a related fieldAdditional qualifications in intellectual property law are advantageousCertifications:
Bar admission in at least one stateRegistered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark OfficeSkills:
