Software Quality Engineer III:RxBenefits is hiring! We are adding to the growing Application Development team in our Birmingham, AL headquarters. The Software Quality Engineer III owns the development and execution of manual test cases for applications and assigned projects. They have an advanced understanding of the business, its operational processes, and the software that supports the processes. The person in this role understands the design of existing and new features and implements/executes a test plan to ensure that the software is functioning as designed. The Software Quality Engineer III provides a high degree of coordination between the product owner, the technical designer, and the development team to ensure quality solutions are delivered to the end-users.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Develop and maintain test plans, test scripts, and test resultsPerform manual System, Functional, API and Integration testingContribute to the project planning process by estimating QA tasks and deliverablesEffectively document software defects and proactively communicate defect details and impact to the teamParticipate in departmental and project team meetingsCommunicate and escalate information about timetables and milestones that may not be metCollaborate with the development, test automation, product support, and product management teams in an agile environmentSupport your team through encouragement and by exampleMake suggestions and improvements to quality assurance standards and best practicesRequired Skills / Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or other related field, or equivalent experience3+ years of quality assurance/testing related experienceExperience in structured testing methodology, with a proven ability to break down requirements into high level and detailed test cases and test scenariosKnowledge of and significant experience with quality assurance and testing best practices, tools, models, principles, techniques, environments, systems and standards, and how they relate to business risk and strategiesExperience working in an Agile or Scrum environment preferredStrong desire to grow technically and professionallyAnalytical thinker and problem solverSolid understanding of risk analysis as it relates to qualityTeam player with strong interpersonal skillsExperience communicating impact in both technical and user-friendly language with all levels of technical and business associatesExperience with a commercially available test management and defect tracking toolExperience in healthcare/benefit management systems is a plus
