SUMMARYThe Corporate Senior Accountant is responsible to assist in the preparation of financial reports and audits.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Preparing state and local taxes in multiple states.Assist in the monthly closing of the financials. Compile backup and prepare schedules that support recurring journal entries. Monthly closing schedule provided by Controller.Prepare journal entry to record accruals for both payables and receivables.Prepare journal entry and schedule to allocate interest expense and revenue for each location.Reconcile & update assigned balance sheet accounts and compile supporting documentation for the audit file.Review all fixed asset purchases for sales and use tax compliance. Conduct second review of sales tax compliance after 90 days of purchase. Monthly provide schedule of compliance review to Controller.Compile and record official documents for all new loans and lease liabilities incurred.Monthly update audit schedules summarizing and detailing each loan and lease. Record disposition of assets from loans or leases, and update interest expense schedule.Record and update audit schedules on all new Lease Receivables. Prepare journal entries to dispose of fixed assets. Monthly record current receivable portion. Maintain Lease Notes file.Prepare payoff and penalty schedules for all liabilities.Assist in compiling information and explaining schedules during the annual audit.Monitor compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.Make recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures.Conduct studies and submit recommendations for improving the organization's accounting operation.Collect appropriate data and prepare federal, state, and local reports and tax returns.Other duties may be assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESNone.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Trailer and inventory industry experience a plus.OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Strong work ethic and a desire to succeed.Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.Attention to detail and highly organized.Current state driver’s license.LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
