Position Summary
As a Maintenance Buyer Specialist, you will maintain the purchasing functions for stock, non-stock, consumable, and specialized parts for the Maintenance and Production Teams. You will be responsible for purchasing all CAPEX and other manufacturing -related purchasing, as well as maintaining minimum stock levels and inventory in the storeroom. You'll also manage new and existing vendor relationships.
Primary Responsibilities
Obtaining quotes and ordering all parts and materials for all departments of the facility and assist when needed for other Buckman facilitiesIssue POs in Concur and in SAP for all purchases, and track and report accrualsAid in cost control by compiling maintenance management costs, adhering to competitive bidding practices, and identifying opportunities for parts standardizationDevelop and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiate price and terms, optimize purchases based on service, lead time, cost. Provide feedback to vendors as appropriateReport on storeroom metrics including out of stock, over-max, inventory accuracy, etc.Reconcile invoices and track paymentsAct as a liaison for any accounting work that is neededSet up new vendors and contractors for invoicing in SAP and ConcurQualifications
2 year college degree or equivalent college credit hoursPrevious experience with parts ordering and inventory management preferredSAP experience and working knowledge of maintenance parts including rotating equipment and instrumentation is a plus
