Job Responsibilities:The Surgical Technologist CVOR acts as a resource in an Inova Fairfax Medical Campus CVOR. Assists OR Service Leader to ensure unit compliance with quality, safety, regulatory requirements, and JCAHO standards.Demonstrates leadership traits and supporting behavioral competencies.Assists the OR Service Leader in analyzing data, ensuring team adherence to performance standards, and improving processes continuously.Serves as primary liaison and information resource for specialty.Oversees the provision of therapeutic care in a holistic, evidence-based environment that produces excellent patient care with optimal patient outcomes.Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with others.Provides mentoring to the OR team.Works collaboratively and has respect for and understanding of other clinical disciplines.Uses and demonstrates clinical expertise in the assessment of staff learning needs, capabilities, and readiness.Demonstrates superior knowledge of aseptic and surgical techniques in the role of a surgical technologist.Supports the OR Service Leader's goals. Interacts with and contributes to the professional growth of Surgical Tech team members, colleagues, and others.Ensures efficient functioning of the specialty service and achievement of optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements for Consideration:Certification - Basic Life Support upon start; Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) via NBSTSA or Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) via NCCT; Must be eligible for Surgical Technologist registration via Commonwealth of Virginia at time of hire.Registration must be completed within 6 months of hireLicensure - None requiredExperience - 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience in cardiac surgeryEducation - High School diploma or equivalent
