Monitor the Northrop Grumman US Network to find malicious activity using various analytical methods and Security Event and Incident Monitoring (SEIM) tools in a high paced operational environment
Respond to computer security incidents in alignment with organizational procedures and best practices
Collect data using a combination of cyber forensic methods and business processes
Participate in monitoring & response efforts coordinated across multiple business units
Correlate technical data from internal and external sources to understand, document, and mitigate the impact of cyber adversary activities on information systems and intellectual property
Produce high-quality documents, presentations, and reports to communicate effectively with technical peers, executives, and non-technical users
Identify gaps in threat awareness and create new threat detection signatures and alerts to compensate
Maintain analytical procedures to meet changing requirements
On occasion, provide extended shift coverage with minimal travel required
Assist junior analysts with analysis and understanding
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering, Information/Network Security, Cyber Security or related field with 5 years of related work experience; OR 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters Degree OR 7 years of relevant experience with an Associates Degree OR 9 years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma/GED.
Coursework and previous experience directly related to Cyber Operations
Capable of working in a hybrid remote/office environment with a diverse team
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Comfort with the core concepts of operating systems, applications, networking, and data structures
Familiarity and driven curiosity of the attack and defense of information systems
Initiative to master new tools and concepts to adapt to the changing threat landscape
Creative technical problem solving experience
Comfort in coding or scripting languages
Salary Range:
$97,500 - $146,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
