Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children

Providing compassionate care to the children, teenagers and young adults of Central Florida for more than 30 years, Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is located on the downtown Orlando campus and includes 156 licensed beds for specialized care for children as well as the Bert Martin's Champions for Children Emergency Department & Trauma Center, offering trauma care for children as the pediatric site of the Orlando Health ORMC Level One Trauma Center. State-of-the-art pediatric services are provided by a comprehensive staff that includes pediatric subspecialty physicians and a nursing team that is "Magnet" recognized for nursing excellence and high-quality patient care. The hospital also has earned national recognition for 12 consecutive years as a "Best Children's Hospitals" by U.S. News & World Report and was included, together with Orlando Health ORMC, in the IBM Watson Health 100 Top Hospitals® list for 2021.

Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children is seeking for

Physical Therapist . Physical Therapist works with patients who have impairments, limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease or other causes. The Physical Therapist role includes examination, evaluation, diagnosis, prognosis and interventions toward achieving the highest functional outcomes for each patient or client.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions• Evaluates patients, gathering data from the patient, the physician, interdisciplinary team meetings if available, family and significant other persons and data sources.• Develops treatment plans which integrate with the continuum of care and have specific goals and objectives and treats accordingly.• Demonstrates competency in the use, care and maintenance of profession specific equipment, observing safety precautions and providing verbal explanations of the equipment and its purpose.• Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to treat and provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned caseload.• Re-evaluates and modifies treatment plan and goals when appropriate.• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.• Assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient'srequirements relative to his or her age-specific needs.• Provides care as described in the unit's/area's/department's policies and procedures.• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her practicing location (s).Recognizes and communicates when the patient has received optimal benefit from physical therapy.• Adheres to State Practice Act and Standards of Practice.• Ensures complete documentation and accurate billing.• Provides patient/family education as indicated.• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Education/Training

Bachelor's degree or higher from an approved program in physical therapy.

Licensure/Certification• Maintains current Physical Therapist license in the State of Florida. Temporary permit acceptable.• Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.

Experience

Two years of outpatient pediatric experience preferred.
