Mission or Goal of Unit:

The mission of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is to providethe highest quality clinical care in both general and specialty Obstetrics andGynecology to the women of central Virginia. In addition, to the clinicalmission, the department has the allied goals of providing undergraduate andgraduate medical education in the field and advancing the field through basicand clinical research.

The department is committed to enhancing diversity among its faculty,staff, and students. Finally, department faculty are responsible for providing services to both their profession and the University community.

Chief Purpose of this position:

TheDepartment of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking qualified candidates to providespecialty care in reproductive endocrinology and infertility to patients at VCUHealth. The position will include participation in student and residenteducation and facilitating the creation of a Fellowship program. The positionalso includes participating in the department's clinical research activities.

Position Responsibilities:

TeachingThefaculty member will have teaching responsibilities to include activelyparticipating in the department's educationalactivities, with particular attention to educating students and residents intheir core educational objectives in reproductive endocrinology andinfertility.

ResearchThe person filling theposition is encouraged to initiate clinical research projects. They are expected to participate in andfacilitate other department research and contribute to scholarly publications/presentations.

ServiceThe faculty member willserve on departmental, hospital and/or university committees as necessary, aswell as in a professional capacity in their field. They will also be assigned to committees atthe discretion of the division director and department chair.

ClinicalFull participation inthe clinical activities of the reproductive endocrinology and infertility divisionis expected. Clinical activities are tobe determined by the division director but are expected to include a combinationof clinic, inpatient care, and operating room. Outpatient responsibilities may be at VCU Medical Center or off-site atthe discretion of the chair and division director.

OtherParticipate indepartment and institutional administrative activities as assigned by thesection chief and chair.

Required Qualifications:Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCUCompletion of training in OB/GYN residency training programCompletion of fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and InfertilityMedical license in VirginiaPotential for scholarship or creative expression to complement and expand existing expertise in the Department of Obstetrics and GynecologyPreferred Qualifications:

Completion of an ACGME accredited OB/GYN residencyCertification by the American Board of OB/GYN in General OB/GYN and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility; candidates who completed their fellowship recently enough that they are not yet eligible to sit for the exam will be considered with the expectation that they take the certification exams at the earliest opportunity
