This can be a complicated and stressful process, and we aim to make it easier. We first launched our flagship Best Hospitals rankings over 30 years ago and have since expanded our digital franchise to help people find the right doctor, dentist or nursing home, as well as other types of healthcare providers.
The Doctor Directory is focused on helping consumers find the best doctor for their particular needs. A competitive business, U.S. News strives to have a best-in-class decision support tool based on the most current, original and objective data to help consumers make informed, important decisions for their caregiver needs.
Are you up to the challenge?
The Senior Product Manager will manage an existing portfolio of products and function as the Product Owner for the Doctor and Hospital directory. The Senior Product Manager will support the Providers Product Director in driving the product strategy and roadmap. S/he will develop and execute on the product roadmap, including UX/UI improvements. S/he will be responsible for monitoring and assessing the impact of the roadmap in improving traffic, user engagement and competitive performance.
S/he will be immersed and knowledgeable about the competitive landscape and SEO KPIs and revenue impact.
The Senior Product Manager will play a pivotal role in helping us meet strategic, traffic and revenue goals and will help to identify growth opportunities for their products. The Senior Product Manager will work collaboratively with cross functional teams of developers, editors, user research and design to execute on the product roadmap.
Product Planning and ManagementDevelop a deep level of understanding of the user journey of directory products, including evolving consumers needs and decision-making process.Drive the product roadmap and define new initiatives and features based on the competitive landscape and consumer feedback, including validating customer use cases for current and planned offerings.Develop business plans that diversify revenue sources, deepen understanding of current customers for personalization and retargeting and are compliant with search algorithm best practices.Spearhead the launch of new initiatives and engage in traffic-building initiatives with PR, Social Media and Promotion.Manage large scale projects within a cross-functional team including tech, design, PR, SEO, legal, editorial and QA.Collaborate with our Sales, Health Analysis, and User Experience teams and to make improvements to the Doctor Directory.Build traffic driving initiatives with PR, Social Media and Editorial.Continuous focus on iterative product enhancement. Prioritize, manage and test features.Research and Analysis
In cooperation with SEO and Business Intelligence, analyze KPIs and develop insights by creating dashboards and using SEO tools to track organic traffic, returning visitors and engagement and build business models that support informed business decisions.Develop a deep understanding of not just what consumers say about their use of the product but also how they are actually utilizing the directory.Continuously track and report product financial performance and customer satisfaction metrics.Evaluate competitive products, market trends, and data opportunities to continuously improve the ability to support consumer decision-making.Product Marketing
Work with theSales team and partners to support commercial programs and develop insights to enhance the sales teams' understanding of consumer engagement.Position Requirements
You should definitely have:
Five years to eight years of similar or related professional work experience in Product Management for B2C productsBachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience requiredStrong experience managing business-to-consumer decision-support productsAbility to multitask and work on deadlines in a fast-paced environmentProven ability to influence cross-functional teamsExperience with full product development lifecycle from concept to launchFamiliarity with the Agile scrum workflow and the Product Owner roleDeep passion for understanding and improving products and user experiencesStrong communication and collaboration skillsIt would be nice if you had:
