Business Data Analysts work closely with the other members of the Analytics team, and work cross-functionally with database and infrastructure professionals, program managers, data analysts, and, especially, end business users to research, develop, test, and deploy BI and Analytic solutions. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, hungry for professional development, and feel most at home working in a less structured environment that demands creativity, adaptability, and self-motivation. $65K-85K AnnuallySummary of Primary ResponsibilitiesAssist in designing, writing, and testing analyses and reports in an enterprise data warehouse (EDW) environment using SQLPerform detailed requirements analysis and translate business needs into Analytics / technical requirementsDesign, write, and test analyses, reports, and dashboards in an enterprise data warehouse (EDW) environment using SQL, Snowflake, and TableauAssist in building extract, transform, and load (ETL) processesDevelop business, statistical, and learning models to create predictive and prescriptive data elements within the enterprise data flowBuild end-user reporting and dashboards using visualization tools such as TableauGather critical information from meetings with various stakeholders and produce useful reportsPrioritize initiatives based on business needs and requirementsContribute every stage of analytic projects (following industry standard methods, such as the Cross-Industry Standard Process for Data Mining (CRISP-DM) model)Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and develop and implement solutionsLead ongoing reviews of business processes and develop optimization strategiesMinimum Experience RequirementsBachelor’s degree in business intelligence, data analytics, statistics, informatics, or similar field, with relevant experience in business intelligence and analytics preferred, orAssociate degree in related field, with a minimum of three years of relevant, progressive experience, orFive years of relevant, progressive experienceExpert in SQL, reporting, and data visualization- specifically TableauExperience interacting with all levels of management, including senior leadershipExceptional analytical and critical reasoning thinking skillsAbility to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutionsExcellent documentation skillsPreferred Knowledge and SkillsBasic familiarity with the principles of ETL processes, relational databases, data warehousing, and dimensional modelingExperience with, or education in, Python, R, SAS, or other language (or application) typically used for statistical learning, modeling, and/or data mungingBasic familiarity with current-generation data visualization tools and information design principlesExperience with Oracle EDW and Snowflake, or equivalent, environmentsExperience or familiarity with semi-structured data (beneficial)Ability to collaborate, high emotional intelligence, and a passion for serving our internal customersFamiliarity with, and understanding of, business principles and functions***This is a remote position, candidate may reside anywhere in the US. ***DisclaimersThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
