Works primarily via the telephone generating new business, as well as maintaining re-order business. Provides consultative and collaborative approach to understand customer environment and competitive forces to consistently execute on the strategy and exceed customer expectations while gaining market penetration.This position is based out of the Lombard, Illinois office and is an hourly position + quarterly commission. Targeted hourly rate is $23/hour. Position will be hybrid once training has been completed.Summary Of Primary ResponsibilitiesUtilize an outbound sales process including, needs-based consultative selling to aid customers in achieving business goals with the use of School Specialty products.Develop multi-level relationships with accounts to promote, market, and sell School Specialty brands to existing and potential customers within assigned territory.Use SalesForce.com to manage time and resources to provide updated information, competitive intelligence, and market trends with our customers.Overcome objections and effectively manage customer rejection.Responsible to respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner and follow-up on all sales leads.Drive continued growth; move customers to our online order-entry platform.Work directly with customers to assess, describe solutions, define products, and create quotes.Responsible for input to sales, profit forecasting overall sales, marketing plans, self-study of products and applications.Translate 21st Century Safe School shared vision to inspire action.Display consistency in word and action – model high standards of ethics.Attendance is required at sales meetings as well as National and Regional conferences and trade shows.Minimum Experience RequirementsBachelor’s degree in business related field preferred; relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.0-2 years of sales experience (Inside Sales preferred).DisclaimersThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
