This role is based on-site in Denver, CO. Vantage’s footprint in North America is expanding and to support it, its accounting team is growing to better support its portfolio of data centers. As such, Vantage is looking for a resourceful, agile and thorough Senior Accountant responsible for the full-cycle accounting activities of its assigned campuses, delivering timely and accurate financial reports, and collaborating with the broader Finance team to meet monthly close requirements and assessing financial performance.The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in the monthly close process by driving the preparation of support for certain journal entries and account reconciliations. They will have opportunities to work cross functionally as well as manage accounts across the balance sheet. You will assist in financial reporting activities, such as the preparation of monthly and quarterly internal financial reporting. You will also assist in non-routine projects as they arise.Essential Job FunctionsComplete full-cycle monthly close procedures and related work for campuses, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and financial reviews.Perform analysis and tracking of campus capital projects, including coordination with Construction Cost Finance team and budget owners for project closeouts and fixed assets processing.Record accurate expenses through purchase order and invoice reviews.Contribute to process documentation, standardization of processes and records, and accounting policies as the Company continues to grow.Assist in preparing, coordinating, and providing year-end audit documentation to internal and external auditors.DutiesCreates, maintains and improves monthly accounting work papers to assist with month-end activities.Prepares income statement and balance sheet analysis, on a monthly, quarterly, year-end and as needed basis.Reconciles general ledger, intercompany and fixed asset accounts.Prepares monthly internal financial reporting information.Sign off on workpapers and contribute to a complete and accurate close process.Review lease signings at properties and ensure timely update of lease schedules in Yardi.Analyze various transactions and identify appropriate account recording and accounting treatment.Assist in implementing and documenting process improvements (monthly close automation, global allocation, etc.).Contribute to non-routine projects such as real estate and business acquisitions, debt financing transactions, etc., as needed.Responsible for the review of purchase orders and invoices for accurate GL coding and comparison against budgeted expenditures.Assist in coordination with external auditors and internal auditors.Collaborate with other departments to obtain information required for capital analysis and variance reporting.Perform generally varied and sophisticated accounting duties in support of property operating requirements with minimal direction.Responsible for preparation of audit schedules as well as other analyses for the year-end audit.Job RequirementsBachelor of Science degree in Accounting or equivalent experience required.2 or more years at a major public accounting firm or 4 or more years of experience in a relevant accounting role required.Real estate industry experience is preferred, but not required.Good understanding of GAAP and internal control environment required.Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.Ability to collaborate with individuals across the organization and “roll-up one’s sleeves” to accomplish all necessary tasks.Experience with SOX preferred but not required.Knowledge of Yardi preferred but not required.Physical Demands And Special Requirements
