General Liability Associate Attorney

A law firm in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a General Liability Associate Attorney with strong litigation skills and experience in handling civil cases, particularly in insurance defense. The candidate will work closely with experienced attorneys and staff, handling file review, legal analysis, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in court and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.Duties :Conduct file review and legal analysis of claims and causes of action in general liability cases.Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs.Meet an annual billable requirement of 1950 hours.Regularly represent clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions.Draft and respond to discovery requests effectively.Collaborate in retaining expert witnesses and coordinate their involvement in cases.Prepare thoroughly for trials and attend trials as required.Participate in negotiations and mediations.Some travel may be required for case-related activities.Requirements :Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school.Admitted to practice law in the state of Georgia; admission in other states is advantageous.Minimum of 2+ years of civil litigation experience with an emphasis in insurance defense.Experience handling civil cases from beginning to end, including taking and defending depositions (including 30(b)(6) and expert depositions), drafting and arguing substantive motions, attending hearings, and trials.Exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills.Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities.Solid research capabilities and strong written and oral communication skills.Strong work ethic, ability to self-manage, and collaborate effectively within a team environment.Prompt responsiveness to email and phone inquiries.Excellent client service skills and professional telephone manner.Education and Certifications :Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school.Skills :Proficiency in legal research databases and litigation support tools.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.Benefits Offered :Competitive compensation package including healthcare and retirement benefits.Employee wellness program, mentoring opportunities, and charitable matching program.Financial incentive bonus program for entrepreneurial initiative.Support and training for marketing objectives.Excellent benefits including 401k match.Exceptional opportunities for professional growth and advancement within the firm.Company info
