General Liability Associate Attorney

A law firm in Portland, OR, is seeking a dedicated and skilled General Liability Associate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general liability and insurance defense and be committed to delivering exceptional legal services and achieving favorable outcomes for clients.Duties:Conduct thorough legal analysis of claims and causes of action.Perform extensive legal research and draft detailed status reports and client analyses.Prepare substantial briefs, memoranda, pleadings, and appellate briefs.Meet an annual billable hour requirement of 1950 hours.Represent clients regularly at hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.Draft and respond to discovery requests.Collaborate with and retain expert witnesses as necessary.Prepare for and attend trials.Travel as needed for case-related matters.Requirements:Minimum of 1 year of experience in General Liability.Insurance Defense experience is a plus.Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school.Admission to practice in Washington and Oregon; admission in other states, such as Idaho or Utah, is a plus.Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong research abilities and excellent written and oral communication skills.Solid work ethic with the ability to self-manage and work effectively in a team environment.Prompt response to e-mail and phone inquiries.Excellent client interaction skills and telephone manners.Skills:Proficiency in legal research and drafting.Effective representation and negotiation skills.Strong organizational and case management abilities.Capability to handle a high volume of work and meet deadlines.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Benefits Offered:Ability to work remotely.Highly competitive compensation.Innovative nondiscretionary monthly incentive bonus program based on achievable monthly billable-hour targets.Excellent benefits including 401(k) match.Exceptional growth and advancement opportunities.Proactive support and training for marketing objectives.
