JOB TITLE:

Help Desk Student Technician

JOB PURPOSE:

Provide front line tech support and online technical assistance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Help Desk Technicians:Provide first line support for faculty, staff, students, and other UW affiliates through phone calls, online chats, email requests by gathering appropriate information and updating the ticket systems with detailed information about work performed and document resolution information accurately.Engage knowledge base articles, special help desk members or other resources as required to assist with issue resolution.Escalate issues to other technology teams when required.

COMPETENCIES:

Customer Service, Working knowledge of consumer technology.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

•Education: Enrolled College Student

•Experience: Customer Service

•Other requirements: Working knowledge of consumer technology

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Our Help Desk Techs are a critical part of providing quality IT services.

The most important skills for a tech in any of the areas below is:

•Willingness to learn

•Communication, both verbal and written

•Motivation to take initiative to find resolutions for incoming requests

•Ability to adapt to a fast paced, continually changing technology environment.
