JOB TITLE:

HR Employee Relations Intern

JOB PURPOSE:

The Employee Relations unit continuously works on improving the relationships between employees, supervisors, and their respective departments. Employee Relations core services include corrective/disciplinary actions, conflict and dispute resolution, and performance management. This position requires a high-level of confidentiality, as you will work with sensitive information regarding university staff, faculty, and departments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Employee Relations Intern will work behind the scenes to support the unit by using technical writing to create timelines, case assessments, drafting templates (warnings, reprimands, etc.), checking employee exit interviews, and organizing/filing in Microsoft Teams. The Employee Relations Intern will regularly use the Human Capital Management (HCM) system, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Omni CMS (content management system).

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

High School Diploma or GED.Students pursuing degrees in HR, Business, Communications, or other related majors are encouraged to apply.

The skills necessary for this position are the ability to maintain confidentiality, organization skills, attention to detail, strong writing skills, time management and prioritization, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and exhibit professionalism.
