The Finance Director reports directly to the CEO/President and will work directly to ensure the overall financial activities and accounting functions of Copper Shores. This role requires a strategic and hands-on leader. This role is responsible for ensuring the financial health and sustainability of Copper Shores, aligning financial strategies with organizational goals, maintaining compliance with all financial regulations and serving as a key member of the executive team. Additionally, the Finance Director will work collaboratively with the Director of Human Resources /Compliance on the overall management of payroll, benefits administration, retirement plan compliance and other standards, procedures, and matters of accreditation and licensing compliance.General Responsibilities
Administer and provide for all accounting including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting activitiesEvaluate and implement appropriate internal accounting controls to insure the safe guarding of organizational assetsWork collaboratively with the CEO/President on the development of Copper Shores annual operating budget, costs analysis, and financial projections of various aspects of Copper ShoresResponsible for all accounting activities including accounts payable and receivable, grants accounting and reporting, chart of accounts, and general ledger managementOversee all payroll functions, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processingEnsure compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.Manage payroll records and reporting, including tax filings and employee benefit deductionsAddress and resolve any payroll-related issues or discrepanciesManage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely completionSupport the CEO/President and Treasurer and prepares various reports for committee-review and Board presentationsOversee the development of requests for funding, review of grant proposals/applications for appropriateness, and makes recommendations to the CEO/President and Finance/Investment CommitteeEngages in fiscally sound practices on behalf of Copper Shores to ensure it operates within budgetary constraintsDevelop and manage financial policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operationsEnsures maintenance and retention of all recordsImplement and monitor internal controls to safeguard the organization's assetsOversees all financial and tax reportingSupervise and mentor finance and accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environmentProvide training and development opportunities for team membersCollaborate with other members of the executive team to develop and implement organizational strategiesProvide financial insights and guidance to the executive team and Board of DirectorsParticipate in executive team meetings, strategic planning sessions, and other key organizational initiativesAttend trainings, meetings, and other related activities as they relate to the position or for professional growth and development.
