Position DescriptionOur client is currently seeking a Vice President to be a key member of our Portfolio Management / Special Assets team to support portfolio management and investment recovery efforts on distressed investments. The position is located in Chicago or New York.ResponsibilitiesActive supporting role to Managing Director of Special Assets on distressed investments and Director of Portfolio Management on Watchlist rated creditsAnalyze financial and operating performance of Watchlist-rated and distressed investments and identify available alternatives as well as key drivers of value and liquidity that impact recoveries on debt/equity investmentsNegotiate and carry out amendments, waivers, consents, and any other legal documents pertaining to existing investmentsPrepare/review/affirm quarterly valuations, identify key risks, and determine appropriate risk ratings on assigned Watchlist creditsPrepare and present memorandums to senior managers and CCO that outline available alternatives and include a well-reasoned recommendation that includes a clearly defined Action Plan designed to mitigate risk and maximize recoveriesStructure, negotiate, and implement in-court and out-of-court restructuring transactionsMonitor and maintain active dialogue with portfolio companies on assigned portfolio mattersCollaborate with external counsel / advisors and internal teamsRequirementsEducation, Experience, and Qualifications/Certifications:Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited University, with at least 6 years of banking experience, or an MBA with at least 4 years of banking experience, ideally in a restructuring or workout groupSkills, Knowledge and Abilities:Strong analytical capabilities and direct experience working with/on projects related to

Watchlist-rated anddistressed investments undergoing in or out-of-court restructurings

Familiarity with bankruptcy or similar legal processes (Ch 7, Ch 11, ABC, Article 9)Ability to provide analytical support to Senior Managers in connection with

(i) identifying credit issues within the investment portfolio, including flaws in documentation, and(ii) designing and implementing strategic alternatives for maximizing recoveries on distressed investments

Strong understanding of core credit and restructuring related legal documents (credit agreements, intercreditor agreements, restructuring support agreement, shareholder agreements, etc.)Strong written and verbal communication skills as the candidate will be responsible for presenting to Executive committees.

The Candidate will also represent our client when dealing directly with clients, lender participants, third party service providers (attorneys, turnaround consultants)

Familiarity with and ability to oversee loan operations functions for assigned distressed portfolio (

loan fundings, application of collections, accurate implementation of amendment term changes, for Agented and non-Agented roles)
