Our friendly and knowledgeable staff teams provide support throughout our many specialty departments and centers, from primary visits to emergency care.What Awaits You?Career growth and developmentTuition AssistanceDiverse and collaborative working environmentAffordable and comprehensive benefits packageLocation: Johns Hopkins Hospital Baltimore, MD - Specimen ProcessingFull Time/Days: 7:00 am - 3:30 pmWeekend Rotations RequiredPosition Summary:Reports to the Director, Laboratory Manager, or Assistant Administrator and serves as a primary resource for development and maintenance of Quality Assurance Programs, testing of procedures, special projects, investigations/analysis, and reporting in assigned areas.Directs the work of assigned personnel in the assessment of QA data.Collects, summarizes, and evaluates quality control data, investigating problems and recommending solutions.Assists in development, revision, and/or monitoring of laboratory procedures and quality assurance programs including proficiency testing and regulatory compliance.Provides technical consultation services for JHMI laboratories, near patient testing areas, and other facilities.Partners with IT/Applications teams for the review, analysis, testing, implementation, and upgrade of laboratory software applications and technologies.Conducts presentations to varied interest groups.Frequent travel throughout JHM geography/to each campus or affiliate hospital is required (when assigned).Minimum Qualifications:Education:Requires a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or equivalent science.Work Experience:Work requires a minimum of five years of clinical experience to acquire knowledge and familiarity with laboratory policies and procedures. Of those years of clinical experience, a minimum of three years must include progressive involvement with Quality Assurance.Required Licensure, Certification, On-going Training:Certification in Medical Technology, or equivalent required.For surgical pathology, certification from an approved agency as a pathologist assistant, histology technologist (HTL), medical technologist, or equivalent required.Advanced degrees in science (Masters or PhD.) may be accepted in lieu of certification.HATS QA Specialist - additionally certified as an inspector for FACT/Apheresis Collections, CQIA, SSGB, Patient Safety Cert program, preferred.Important Notices:*** Effective January 1st 2022, you must be fully vaccinated with an FDA COVID-19 vaccination and provide proof of your vaccination status as part of your occupational health screening.
