Cancer Center is seeking a Manager of Sponsored Research and Development to oversee the development, management, and compliance of the Cancer Center Grants Office including supervision of the Grants Management team.
Primary responsibilities include identifying grant opportunities, working with appropriate Grant Specialists, researchers, and clinicians to identify, develop, coordinate, and submit grant applications, provide grant management oversight including grant reporting to funding agencies and department heads, and ensure compliance with required grant reporting and administration by federal, state, and local entities.
The Manager will work closely with the Contracts and Budget & Finance team and Pre and Post-award Grant Specialists to ensure that awards are properly reconciled to developed budgets, disbursement are in accordance with award stipulations, and reports are submitted timely to the Cancer Center Executive Leadership team.
The Manager of Sponsored Research and Development will work closely with the
LSU
Cancer Center Business Manager to manage and audit the accounting and finance functions of the department’s federal, institutional, and private grants including accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, internal controls, assistance with annual audited financial statements, and accurate and timely government filings.
Excellent interpersonal skills are required to interact with researchers, clinicians and upper & lower administrative team members. Knowledge of
OMB
Circular A-21 principles, fund management, and creating budgets, particularly with National Institute of Health agencies, is essential. Experience working with federal granting agencies is preferred.Additional Position InformationMinimum QualificationsRequired EducationRequired Education
