The Director-Supply Chain Operations leads all supply chain and manufacturing functions for Osmose Utilities Services. This person provides strategy development and tactical execution for supply needs, material planning, sourcing, distribution, logistics, to ensure both field crews and customer requirements are met. Effectively partners with sales, product management, operations, finance, and product strategy teams to ensure business plans, organizational objectives, and operating requirements are successfully achieved.Responsibilities:Develop an effective supply chain strategy to source steel, preservatives, tools, supplies, and other raw materials and commodities to support Osmose profit centers. The annual level of direct and indirect procurement across all of these demand segments is ~ $100MManage the manufacturing, production, and inventory teams to minimize working capital investment and maximize internal/external customer results by ensuring adequate inventory levels are maintained.Organize all aspects of distribution and manufacturing operations – receiving, storing, producing, and distributing of products and supplies – to maximize capacity, increase productivity, and improve efficiency.Lead internal/external order fulfillment in terms of production, planning, purchasing, expediting, inventory management, logistics, and shipping to ensure on-time delivery. Ensure field crews have all necessary product, tools, and supplies in a timely manner.Interact with operations support team and sales organization to understand product demand forecast drivers and balance resources necessary to meet the requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner.Effectively manage the R&D test-site for conducting pole-strength assessments; various distribution centers for warehousing field crew supplies and customer products; and multiple manufacturing facilities for processing wood preservative pastes, galvanizing steel, and producing pole wrap products.Drive continuous improvement of key performance indicators (KPI’s) – safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and employee morale – for manufacturing/assembly, distribution, and strategic sourcing teams.Work with suppliers to negotiate contractual agreements, leverage inventory, capacity, and other supply chain requirements.Work with the R&D team to improve QC processes for various product lines used by crews in the field as well as the customer base.Requirements:4-year college degree in engineering or materials management and certification in supply chain management preferably in the chemical industry required.5-7 years managerial experience in supply chain management including Lean Manufacturing Principles.Demonstrate leadership skills and self-motivational qualities.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in situations where limited standardization exists.Knowledge of ERP and IT systems relative to supply chain and distribution dependencies; proficient in Microsoft Office software applications including Outlook.Professional work experience with facility expansion/relocation and project management.Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.Willingness to travel and work varied hours to achieve desired results.Embrace core values of the company.
