The Company is focused on developing its lead product DefenCath, a novel, non-antibiotic antimicrobial solution designed to prevent costly and life-threatening bloodstream infections associated with the use of central venous catheters in patients undergoing chronic hemodialysis. DefenCath has been designated by FDA as Fast Track and as a Qualified Infectious Disease Product (QIDP), and the original New Drug Application (NDA) received priority review in recognition of its potential to address an unmet medical need. DefenCath was approved by the FDA on November 15, 2023 and the Company has indicated an estimated initial launch in 1Q 2024. CorMedix also intends to develop DefenCath as a catheter lock solution for use in other patient populations, and the Company is working with top-tier researchers to develop taurolidine-based therapies for rare pediatric cancers.PositionThe Key Account Manager (KAM) will contribute to CorMedix’s overall sales objective by performing assigned sales related activities. The KAM will provide physicians, pharmacists, nurses and all healthcare professionals (HCPs) with product, services and approved information that will enable the HCPs to appropriately prescribe Defencath. The KAM will compliantly and successfully implement CorMedix’s marketing strategies and corresponding tactics in order to achieve short-term and long-term objectivesThe ideal candidate will be capable of managing the territory and administrative requirements in an efficient and effective manner and will achieve full compliance with drug laws and regulations when representing CorMedix and Defencath to Healthcare ProvidersPrimary ResponsibilitiesAchieve the assigned sales objective for the territoryAttain the designated goals for calls on appropriate healthcare professionals to communicate balanced, accurate, and complete information on DefencathDevelops and implements a territory business plan to meet customer needs and achieve goalsNavigate through complex external/customer organizational structures including hospitals, IDNs, GPOs and healthcare communities while aligning with cross-functional commercial partnersDemonstrate completion of administrative requirements including budget management, expense reports management, CRM call reporting and synchronization, etc. within timelines and company guidelinesOperate the territory within the assigned expense budget and demonstrates fiscal responsibilityComply with all federal/state/local laws, regulations and guidelines including but not limited to the PhRMA Code on Interactions with Healthcare Professionals as well as complying with all CorMedix standards and policies relating to all job activitiesSuccessful completion and ongoing updates of all aspects of training including but not limited to product knowledge, disease state, market, selling skills and complianceAssists in the identification and resolution of issues and opportunities while communicating proactively to marketing and sales managementSkills & RequirementsManagement of large territories that includes periodic overnight travelExcellent written and oral communication skillsStrong computer skills, notably WORD, EXCEL and POWER POINTQualificationsUndergraduate degree required, ideally in business/marketing/healthcare/life science areas of concentration6+ years of successful pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience with 3+ in the nephrology and/or infectious disease marketsEEO StatementCorMedix is an equal opportunity employer.
