Greet all guests in a friendly, positive manner. Ask questions of guests and make personal connections to make them feel they are welcome and valuedExpedite all required items according to standardized recipesSet up service units with needed itemsServe items in accordance with established portions and presentation standardsNotify the Kitchen Manager or Manager on Duty of expected shortagesEnsure that assigned work areas and equipment are clean and sanitarySet up, maintain, and break down Expo stationAdhere to local health and safety regulationsFollow all Suburban Inns processesExhibit regular and recurrent attendance recordsOther duties as requested by managementPosition Requirements:
Minimum Knowledge: Requires ability to interpret / extract information and/or perform arithmetic functions. May require typing, record keeping, or word processing. Strong verbal communication and organization skills required.Formal Education and Job-Related Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent. Minimum 1-year full-service restaurant experience.License, Registration, and/or Certification Required: ServSafe Food and Allergen Certification preferredWork Schedule: Work regularly requires or varies between day, evening, night, holiday, and/or weekend assignments. Schedule varies according to business demands and needsUniform and Appearance Guidelines:
Uniform: Uniform shirt, hat and name tag will be provided. Team Members are responsible for their own pants and shoes meeting Suburban Inns specifications. Pants need to be either chef pants, black slacks/dockers or dark wash jeans with no holes (no yoga-style) and shoes need to be black, close-toed and non-slip.Appearance: Hair must be kept well-groomed. All facial piercings and tattoos that are not covered by a work uniform must be approved by management. Any tattoo that is deemed offensive to co-workers, guests, vendors or others in the workplace based on racial, sexual, religious, ethnic, or other characteristics or attributes of a sensitive or legally protected nature are not permitted and must remain covered or concealed at all times. This policy will be administered by the position's supervisor, without regard to race, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability, height, weight, genetics, familial status, veteran status, and other protected characteristics. The Vice President of Operations has the authority to veto any decision made by the position's supervisor.
