Tustin, CA (hybrid - onsite 3 days per week) or fully remoteResponsibilities

Suggest strategies, evaluate solutions, design, and implement tools, processes, and controls to validate and ensure that security and privacy are designed into Virgin Galactic on-prem and cloud infrastructure and applications while adhering to policy and governance requirementsServe as an internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) to assess cyber threats and to secure the organizationBe our go-to expert in Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama, overseeing the configuration, optimization, and maintenance of our firewall infrastructure. You'll be instrumental in implementing robust security policies, threat prevention measures, and access controls to fortify our network defenses.Drive maturity in security architecture and processes based on a zero-trust philosophy, and collaborate with IT teammates on design implementation and optimizationIdentify gaps in network infrastructure security, working with internal teams on timely remediation and recommending future improvementsDevelop foundational processes for a Red team / Blue team capabilityAbility to act as the technical lead for the Incident Response team in the event of an incident and make timely and effective decisions regarding action plansStay current with the latest threats/TTPs, technologies, and best practices in network securityMentor junior team members and help grow their knowledge and skillsSupport and represent leadership in meetings as neededCreate and maintain high quality documentation in ConfluenceAnd other duties as assignedWhat You Bring

Extensive background in IT and networking, with 5+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity engineering with a focus on multi-site networks. Should include skills in routing and switching, protocols such as OSPF and BGP, virtual networks, etc.Solid understanding of zero trust concepts and implementationExperience working with services like MDR, MSSP, DFIR and Incident Response, pen testers, etc.Hands-on experience with core security infrastructure technologies such as SASE, NGFW, SIEM, CSPM, and authentication toolsExperience working in a multi-cloud environment strongly preferred, including AzureStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex security issues, analyze data, and develop effective solutions.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Very solid writing skills, e.g. for technical documentation. Ability and desire to tackle complex problems as part of a team effort.Ability to work self-directed in a very fast-paced engineering-focused company. Must be proactive about seeking out things that need to be fixed and driving them to closure.Experience with programming or scripting is a plus, e.g. Python or PowerShellDemonstrated commitment to continuous learning and staying current with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in cybersecurity. Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred, but can be substituted with the right work experience.Preferred certifications include CISSP, CEH, Cisco CCNP, Palo Alto CNSE, or other relevant cybersecurity certifications.The annual U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $118,100.00–$180,200.00. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, and experience and take into account internal equity. Other forms of pay (e.g., bonus or long term incentive) may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
