A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Patent Associate Attorney for their Chicago, IL office.Job Overview:

The Mid-Level Patent Associate Attorney will handle patent prosecution matters, portfolio management, and legal counsel in video processing, video codecs, virtual/augmented reality, and AI. The role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic legal team.Duties:

Conduct patent prosecution activities, including drafting and prosecuting patent applications.Manage patent portfolios and provide strategic advice on patent matters.Analyze patentability, infringement, validity, and freedom-to-operate issues.Conduct patent searches and prepare opinions of counsel.Handle inter partes reviews (IPRs) and other post-grant proceedings.Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to understand business objectives and align patent strategies accordingly.Stay updated on industry trends, legal developments, and best practices in patent law.Requirements:

2+ years of prosecution experience at a law firm or in-house.Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.Strong knowledge and experience in video processing and video codecs.Familiarity with video coding standards.Experience in virtual/augmented reality and AI is preferred.Graduate-level experience or an advanced technical degree is a plus.Admission to the USPTO is preferred.Skills:
