Mid-Level Patent Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a Mid-Level Patent Associate Attorney with a minimum of 2+ years of prosecution experience, specializing in video processing, video codecs, virtual/augmented reality, and AI. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.Duties:Prosecute patent applications in video processing, video codecs, virtual/augmented reality, and AI.Manage patent portfolios and provide strategic guidance on portfolio development and management.Conduct patent analysis and opinions of counsel.Assist with inter partes reviews (IPRs) and other post-grant proceedings.Collaborate with clients, attorneys, and staff to achieve desired outcomes.Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and handle situations with discretion.Analyze issues, make decisions, and initiate actions/solutions as needed.Adapt to evolving firm needs and embrace new skills and best practices.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.Minimum of 2+ years of prosecution experience at a firm or in-house.Strong knowledge and experience in video processing and video codecs.Familiarity with video coding standards.Experience in virtual/augmented reality and AI is preferred.Graduate-level experience or an advanced technical degree is a plus.Admission to the USPTO is a plus.Skills:Excellent oral and written communication skills.Ability to manage time and deadlines effectively.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well within a team.Ability to develop relationships at all levels of the firm.Confidence to identify and analyze issues and make decisions.Adaptability and flexibility in the face of unexpected changes.Good judgment and composure in challenging situations.
