Axcelis Technologies, Inc. (“the Company” or “Axcelis”) has engaged Major, Lindsey & Africa on an exclusive basis to conduct a search for an Executive Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary.

For over forty-five years, chipmakers from around the globe have relied on Axcelis' tools and process expertise to form the semiconductor chips, also known as integrated circuits (“ICs”) or transistors, that are used in a continuously evolving range of consumer and industrial products, including for example, personal computers, mobile devices, automobiles, sensors and controllers for the “internet of things” and data storage servers.Position Overview:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”), the General Counsel will provide strategic business and legal advice and guidance to the CEO, Axcelis’ Board of Directors, and the senior executive team. The GC will be responsible for the development and execution of the legal strategy and operations that support the Company’s business plans, and as a member of the senior executive team, will actively participate in strategic planning and decision-making processes. The GC will be a values-based leader who drives a collaborative, respectful and fair culture, and is someone who will be committed to delivering results that benefit the Company and its stakeholders, customers, suppliers, and employees.Experience:
The successful candidate will have strong business acumen, prior experience as General Counsel in a public company, significant experience in-house at a technology-based company, and at least fifteen (15) years of combined legal experience at a major law firm and an in-house legal department. Working in the semiconductor industry is a plus.Location:
The position is based at the Company’s headquarters in Beverly, MA.Relocation:
Local candidates preferred; relocation may be available for the right candidate.Compensation:
Competitive and commensurate with experience.
