ECS is seeking a qualified System Administrator (HPC) (Junior) to support transformative science and technology solutions for the Department of Energy.
Job Description:
The right candidate must be a skilled technician with knowledge to support a variety of technologies and software. Exceptional customer service skills, with technical knowledge of the architecture is preferred. . You will be expected to work with minimal supervision to provide on-site system administrator and operations support. This position will require that you troubleshoot and diagnose system issues to provide rapid remediation. Routinely interact with corporate stakeholders and others to communicate status, problems, and progress-update the documentation to maintain relevance and applicability. Support continuous security monitoring, including participation in activities to maintain appropriate security posture and perform package updates. Identify areas of potential efficiency improvement to include the development of automated routines. Troubleshoot performance degradation. Engage in actively learning, deploying, and maintaining new technologies.
Job requirements to include:
Management of the Active Directory environment, including:
User managementPrinter managementDevice managementGroup policy
Tier 3 level support for ticket escalation, to include remote support and troubleshooting investigationIntermediate or higher level Powershell scripting skillsAssess the stability, security, and scalability of installed Windows Server systems.Install and upgrade Windows system and servers.Discuss system and server upgrades with project management.Review system error logs and user-reported errors/issues.Perform daily system health monitoring.Required Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related fieldOR
Associate's Degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field AND two years of related work experienceOR
Four years of related work experienceMust be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret or DOE Q clearance throughout the life of the contractMust be a US CitizenMust currently live in Morgantown, WV or willing to relocateAbility to work independently and as part of a teamDesired Skills:
Active Top Secret or DOE Q Clearance with the ability to maintain clearance throughout the life of the contract.Two or more years experience supporting US Government customersProject Management Professional certificationExperience supporting complex government and programs of a research and development natureMicrosoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and/or Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) certificationsProficiency with BigFix (Endpoint management)Proficiency with Antivirus software tools and analysisExperience administering Linux operating systems (e.g., RHEL, Debian, Centos, Fedora)Experience scripting (i.e. Shell, Python, Perl) for system administration tasks. Familiarity with the HPC ecosystem (e.g., schedulers, filesystems, compiler licenses) is desirable
