Ensures all required safety training and reporting are performed according to company, federal, state, and local statutory requirements. Plans, implements, and supervises project safety and ensures that accident and fire protection programs are in compliance with the Safety Program on the assigned project. Consults with Safety Manager to develop safe work plans for all project phases and crew tasks.Supervisory Responsibilities:NoneDuties/Responsibilities:Assist in developing, implementing, and coordinating the safety training programs. This may include employee orientations, specific program training, monitoring, and assisting in weekly safety meetings, supervisor training, and accident awareness trainingPerforms safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventive measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implementedConducts post-accident investigation and prepares a report identifying possible accident causes and hazards for use by company personnel and senior managementAssist managers and supervisors in investigating and documenting all property damage, personal injuries, safety violations, and unsafe conditions and activitiesWork with managers and supervisors in managing hazardous working conditions and eliminating unsafe employee activities.Investigate and recommend improvements in processes, design, procedures, and operations to minimize potential hazardsOversee workplace repair, installations, and any other work that could harm employees' safetyDevelop, manage, and report on safety programs and plans at the company level and specific to each company locationAssists in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local statutory requirementsPrepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine causesCollect, manage, and report on safety procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local statutory requirementsAdvises safety director on safety compliance concerns and preventative actionsEnsure employee understanding of and compliance with all safety company policies and proceduresEnsure that all sub-contractors' employees comply with job site safety rules and regulationsRequired Skills/Abilities:Proficient written and oral communication skills according to skill requirementsPossess strong computer skills, able to read, write, and comprehend written instructional documents in EnglishAbility to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environmentAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsAbility to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volumeAbility to apply concepts of introductory algebra and geometryProficient Microsoft Office productivity suiteEducation and Experience:High school diploma or equivalentCertified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred or have more than one certification in the following; Safety Management Specialist (SMS), Safety Trained Supervisor (STS), Safety Trained Supervisor Construction (STSC), Certified Instructional Trainer (CIT), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST), Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or similar accredited certificationsAt least 5 years of related experience requiredCertified in risk management and health/safety managementThorough knowledge of health and safety laws and guidelinesPhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computerProlonged period of standing, bending, reaching, and working with handsOccasional periods of prolonged exposure to loud noisesAbility to lift up to 50 pounds at timesAbility to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands as necessaryAbility to hear and see to position and safety requirement levelsOccasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, and chemicalsSpecial Qualifications/Requirements:Must be able to successfully pass as required a federal, state, or local government's background investigationValid state driver's licenseFirst Aid and CPR CertifiedOSHA 500 CertifiedCompleted 40 Hour EM 385-1-1 CourseCompleted 30 Hour OSHA Construction CourseDisclaimer:The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and that additional tasks may be assigned to the employee from time to time; or the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands.Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
