Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for Resilience Program Manager to support the Resilient Environment Department: Resilience Unit.General DescriptionPerforms highly responsible supervisory and administrative work in planning, organizing, and directing large-scale environmental programs and activities. Works under administrative supervision, developing and implementing programs within organizational policies and reports major activities to executive-level administrators through conferences and reports.Minimum Education and Experience RequirementsRequires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in environmental sciences, biology, chemistry, geology, engineering, or a field relevant to the area of assignment. Requires four (4) years in managing environmental monitoring, regulation, and compliance programs related to the area of assignment; including two (2) years of supervisory experience.Special Certifications and Licenses RequiredNone.PreferencesCandidates with a Ph.D. in Biology, Ecology, Hydrology, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field preferred.This is advanced professional and supervisory work with technical and administrative responsibility in developing and implementing strategies related to the County's resilience priorities, including mitigation and adaptation efforts. The position requires knowledge of resilience stressors and impacts affecting south Florida, inclusive of community, economy, infrastructure, and natural systems. The successful candidate will possess a broad understanding of the community resilience considerations ranging from flood to heat, stormwater management to housing, low carbon economies to the economics of risk.
