A law firm in Parsippany, NJ, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Employee Benefits Associate / Senior Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in employee benefits law, including the design, implementation, and administration of qualified and nonqualified retirement plans and other ERISA-covered plans. The role requires a candidate with strong technical and legal research skills, exceptional client service capabilities, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.Duties
Design, implement, and administer qualified and nonqualified retirement plans.Manage and oversee ERISA-covered plans, including 403(b) plans, and health and welfare plans.Provide legal advice and support on executive compensation matters.Conduct legal research and draft legal documents, including plan documents and compliance materials.Advise clients on regulatory compliance, plan corrections, and fiduciary responsibilities.Represent clients with regulatory agencies such as the IRS and DOL.Develop and deliver presentations and training sessions for clients on matters of employee benefits.Collaborate with other attorneys, accountants, and consultants to deliver comprehensive client services.Stay current on changes in laws and regulations affecting employee benefits and compensation.Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of employee benefits experience.At least 4 years of experience in a law firm, accounting/consulting firm, or as in-house counsel.Extensive experience with ERISA-covered plans and 403(b) plans.Knowledge of executive compensation is a plus.Excellent technical and legal research skills.Superior written and verbal communication and advocacy skills.Demonstrated professional and client service skills.Team-oriented with strong collaboration skills.Effective problem-solving abilities and proactive work ethic.Ability to develop creative solutions to meet client and team needs.Education
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Certifications
Admission to the New Jersey Bar in good standing.Skills
