Lead Platform Engineer

We are looking for a seasoned platform engineering and DevOps professional who will lead a small team working cross-functionally to help implement and operationalize pipeline and delivery techniques to some of the most advanced cloud architectures running on AWS. This will be a key role in enabling our product engineering teams to deliver faster and to stay nimble in a scalable way as our team and products grow. The Lead Platform Engineer will demonstrate technical depth, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion to solve complex business problems.This is an important hands-on technical leadership role for our product engineering team that includes people management. Candidates will have a chance to work in a dynamic environment across several product lines as well as work on many aspects of our global infrastructure, infrastructure as code, build and delivery pipelines and build the future of the DevOps culture within our engineering teams.You will be working in a "SaaS Operations” production environment as part of a 24/7 team that requires high personal accountability, and a readiness to provide support, should any critical issue arise. You will work alongside engineering teams to implement solutions for application delivery, infrastructure and POCs, deliver technical expertise, and establish best practices.You will be leading a small team of highly skilled professionals to provide support for the company’s product engineering teams, fulfill day-to-day requests, automate tasks, and participate in both small and large engineering projects.Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Lead a small team of DevOps and CloudOps engineers on daily tasks as well as larger projects and initiatives providing 1:1 support, career growth, coaching, feedback and cultivating a culture of passion and trust.Foster a DevOps culture within the team, help QA “shift-left”, and provide industry best-practices to how we build and release software.Own our “Developer Experience” across our product engineering teams.Work closely with the Development and QA teams during the application development process.Write and maintain custom automation to increase system efficiency, quality, and reduce human intervention on appropriate tasks.Create and maintain application and infrastructure build and delivery pipelines, CI/CD, and configuration management schemes.Work with team members on project tasks derived from release requirements.Identify and recommend options for improving performance, maintainability, observability, and operability.Participate in the engineering, planning, upgrade, and maintenance of our cloud infrastructure.Support highly available 24/7 production SaaS applications by monitoring, diagnosing, and resolving issues, configuring, and installing custom-developed and third-party applications, primarily within AWS.Education And Experience

A great attitude and drive to produce high-quality work.Professional, responsive, and able to exercise sound judgment.Ability to deliver high-quality with extreme attention to detail.A love for documentation and sharing knowledge, mentoring others and personal growth.An eagerness to learn enough about whatever tools or tricks are needed to get the job done.Skilled in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Unix Shell, Python).Experience with configuration management solutions (Packer, EC2 Builder, Jenkins).Production experience configuring, building and deploying containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes, Fargate, ECS).Skilled in troubleshooting issues throughout the entire infrastructure stack.Strong experience with web application technologies (IIS, Node.js).Excellent understanding of server operating systems (Windows, Linux).Proficiency with database technologies (MySQL, Aurora, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, Redis).Solid understanding of proper communication and collaboration involving changes, issues, and process.A minimum of 5 years of platform engineering/DevOps experience.A minimum of 2 years’ recent experience leading a team.General Information
