Aerospace and Defense Attorney

A law firm in Niles, MI is seeking an Aerospace and Defense Attorney with a minimum of 3 years of experience in federal government contracts, with exposure to U.S. export controls. The ideal candidate will possess strong advisory skills in A&D matters, drafting legal documents, and representing clients in administrative and court proceedings.Duties:Advise clients on government and commercial contracts pertaining to aerospace and defenseDraft legal memoranda, bid protests, REAs, claims, and policy articlesConduct comprehensive legal research on government contracts, subcontracts, and regulatory requirementsDemonstrate excellent organizational and project management skillsCommunicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with clients and colleaguesUtilize legal research services proficiently to support legal analysis and case preparationRepresent clients in administrative and court proceedings, including bid protests, claims, and investigationsProvide compliance planning and training to clientsRequirements:Minimum of 3 years of experience in federal government contractsFamiliarity with U.S. export controls, including OFAC sanctionsAdmission to the State Bar of Michigan or the D.C. Bar, or eligibility for admission by anticipated start datePortable book of business is advantageousEducation:Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law schoolCertifications:Admitted to the State Bar of Michigan or the D.C.
