A law firm in Detroit, MI is seeking an Aerospace and Defense Attorney with a minimum of 3 years of experience in federal government contracts, preferably with exposure to U.S. export controls. The ideal candidate will provide counsel on a range of A&D matters, including government and commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and litigation support.Duties:Advise clients on government and commercial contracts in the aerospace and defense sectorDraft legal memoranda, bid protests, REAs, claims, and policy articlesConduct legal research on government contracts, subcontracts, and regulatory requirementsManage projects and demonstrate organizational skillsRepresent clients in administrative and court proceedings, including bid protests and claimsAssist with internal and government investigations and compliance planningHandle transactional support, including M&A and data rights issuesRequirements:Minimum of 3 years of experience in federal government contractsFamiliarity with U.S. export controls, including OFAC sanctionsAdmission to the State Bar of Michigan or the D.C. Bar, or eligibility for admission by anticipated start datePortable book of business is desirableEducation:Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law schoolCertifications:Admitted to the State Bar of Michigan or the D.C. Bar, or eligible for admission by anticipated start dateSkills:Strong communication skills, both oral and writtenProficiency in legal research servicesKnowledge of government contracting regulations, including the FAR, DFARS, and agency FAR supplementsExperience with space law, government contracting cost issues, and IP rights is advantageousAbility to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
