Workplace Operations & Services roles vary in focus and execution across facilities/site operations, safety, security, core administrative/operational support, company assets management, and real estate. Areas of responsibility include performing support services; identifying, acquiring, designing, constructing, and operating exceptional, safe, secure, and creative environments; managing, planning, repairing, and maintaining Magic Leap’s company facilities and assets; ensuring safety and security across Magic Leap.As a Facilities Operations Manager within our Workplace Operations & Services organization, you will ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of company facilities by managing a team and overseeing various administrative functions. Responsibilities include supervising staff and vendors in security, maintenance, custodial services, and office administration. The role also involves space planning, facility inspections, implementing layout changes, managing budgets, negotiating with vendors, and developing long-term improvement plans.

Relocation assistance is available for candidates interested in relocating to the area.What you’ll doDesign and oversee all facilities' operational processes, including clean rooms, labs, and office spaces, ensuring they meet regulatory and operational standards.Coordinate and manage the programs and procedures for installing and maintaining equipment to ensure optimal functionality and seamless integration with the manufacturing process. This includes overseeing all infrastructure related to the equipment, including but not limited to deionized water systems, acid waste neutralization systems, process gases and chemicals, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.Oversee all end-to-end construction activities, including proposal requests, vendor selection and oversight, budget and cost management, coordination with regulators, vendors, and internal teams, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards, and seamless project execution.Serve as a liaison with local authorities, facilitating planning processes, securing permits, and coordinating inspections while ensuring stakeholders are well-informed and engaged in key project decisions.Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs, including preventive and corrective maintenance schedules, ensuring minimal production disruption.Responsible for scheduling, prioritizing, and inspecting all facilities' work, ensuring projects are completed and meet safety protocols.Participate in energy conservation and waste management programs to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.Lead a dynamic team, adeptly managing manpower scheduling, overseeing timesheet approvals, and seamlessly coordinating emergency and routine facility operations.The experience you bring5-8+ years of professional experience in facilities operations, preferably in semiconductor, manufacturing, biomedical science facilities, or similar environments.Associate degree in facility management, engineering, construction, or a related field. Relevant certifications of equivalent experience will also be considered. We are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.Hands-on experience with process gases, chemicals, and navigating cleanroom environments, indicative of adaptability and specialized knowledge.Proficiency in utilizing facility management software such as Upkeep and CMMS, alongside adeptness in CAD applications.Demonstrated expertise in HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and overall building construction, underscoring a robust technical background.Recognized leadership capabilities demonstrated through team management, budget oversight, and delivering impactful presentations to senior stakeholders.Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Effective communicator adept at establishing rapport across all organizational levels, fostering productive relationships crucial for operational success.Proficient in contracting and negotiation and adept at navigating change management processes, crucial for ensuring operational efficiency and agility.It’s exciting if you also have:10+ years of professional experience in facilities operations, preferably in semiconductor, manufacturing, biomedical science facilities, or similar environments.Possession of relevant certifications or degrees in related disciplines, highlighting a commitment to ongoing professional development and mastery in the fieldAdditional RequirementsFlexibility to travel approximately 10% of the time for training, support, or spearheading strategic initiatives.Ability to safely lift and maneuver heavy objects.Adherence to a flexible work schedule, accommodating operational needs spanning from 7 am-4 pm or 8 am-5 pm, and on-call responsibilities as needed, such as occasional nights or weekends,
