Health Sciences Center in New Orleans invites applications for a faculty position at the academic rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor-Research (non-tenure track). Our department has a long-standing history of innovation in teaching/mentoring and curriculum/program design, with experienced faculty members actively engaged in educational scholarship and leadership across several
NIH -funded mentoring programs supporting the next generation of health care providers and biomedical researchers.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to teach physiology and pathophysiology to professional students.
The selected candidate will enjoy a vibrant and highly collegial atmosphere located within the heart of downtown New Orleans and will:Provide innovative instruction in broad physiological and pathophysiological principles to health professions students at multiple levels (undergraduate and graduate).Will have leadership roles in the development and implementation of physiology courses.Have teaching experience in cardiovascular, renal, and/or pulmonary physiology are particularly desired.
While the ideal candidate for this position will be intrinsically motivated and professionally committed to these objectives, they will also receive customized mentoring from current faculty in these areas to support professional growth and wellness.
Candidates with an MD or a PhD in Physiology or closely related biological sciences field are encouraged to apply.
