IntroductionTHIS IS A CONTINUOUS EXAMINATION: The examination\rconsists of an on-going review of candidates’ applications and supplemental\rquestionnaires to verify possession of minimum qualifications. Those candidates\rwho possess the minimum qualifications for the class will be placed on the\religible list based on an evaluation of education, training, and experience.\rThe eligible list resulting from this recruitment and selection process may be\rused to fill future vacancies which may arise within the next year.\r\rThis examination will cancel any existing list and may last\rapproximately one year, but can be extended. The\rEnvironmental Health Department works to keep our air, water, and food safe; it\rregulates, protects, and promotes the health of everyone in Alameda County by\renforcing environmental health codes to reduce exposure to toxins and diseases.\rThe\rPublic Health Department focuses on community and population-level health,\rpreventing and addressing root causes of health inequity across a range of\rcommunicable and chronic diseases.\r Alameda\rCounty Health also provides services through Housing and Homelessness Services,\rEmergency Medical Services Agency, HealthPAC, and Healthy Schools and\rCommunities.\r\r\r\r\r\r\rBEHAVIORAL\rHEALTH DEPARTMENT\rAs\rpart of Alameda County Health, the Behavioral Health Department supports people\rwith Medi-Cal and without insurance living with serious mental illness and\rsubstance use conditions along their path toward wellness, recovery, and\rresiliency. We provide services through a network of contracted mental health\rand substance use providers and administer the State’s resources and training\rfor behavioral health providers, case managers, and other healthcare\rprofessionals. We advocate for our patients and families and create space for\rpersonal engagement in their care. \r\rWe are\routpatient specialists for mental health services for older adults and youth,\rsubstance use providers and treatment program specialists, advocates for\rquality improvement and patients’ rights, and psychiatric and integrated health\rcare providers.\r\rFor more information about\rthe Behavioral Health Department, please visitwww.acbhcs.org.\r\rTHE\rPOSITION\rUnder\rgeneral supervision, to provide a variety of nursing care services, case\rmanagement, treatment plan, teaching, counseling and referral to clients and\rfamilies in a home and/or community setting, to provide nursing assessment,\rplanning, intervention and evaluation; coordinates care with other health care\rproviders, professionals and other agencies and community representatives; to\rassist in the prevention of communicable diseases; and to perform related\rduties as required. Registered Nurse I/II positions are located in the Health\rCare Services Agency, Social Services Agency and Community Development Agency.\r\rRegistered\rNurse II: This is the journey-level class where incumbents have had the\rrequired professional nursing experience and are capable of independently\rperforming the full range of nursing care services. The Registered Nurse I/II's\rare distinguished from the next higher level of Registered Nurse III in that\rthe latter acts as lead nurse providing consultation and assisting in the\rsupervision of lower-level staff within a program, unit or site.\r\rTHE VACANCIES\rThe current Registered Nurse II vacancies are in theBehavioral\rHealth Department. However, the eligible list resulting from this\rrecruitment may be used to fill future vacancies in other program areas.\r\r\r\r\r\r\rMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSFor\rBoth Levels I & II\r\rLicense/Certificate:\r\r- Possession of a current and valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse\rin the State of California.\r- Some positions may require possession of a current and valid Public Health\rNurse (PHN) Certificate issued by the State of California\r- Some positions may require a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's\rlicense.\r\rSpecial Requirements:\r\r1.
