The Vehicle Safety Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety and regulatory compliance of our fleet operations. This role involves overseeing the installation and performance of telematics equipment, managing driver performance and training, and ensuring adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.JOB DESCRIPTION

Oversee the installation of telematics equipment in all vehicles.Monitor and manage driver telematics performance, implementing discipline for non-compliance.Manage and monitor driver Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs).Conduct randomized drug testing programs for all drivers with commercial licenses.Implement and manage a driver incentive program to reward good driving behavior.Collect and review daily vehicle inspection reports from drivers.Organize and oversee necessary vehicle repairs.Maintain comprehensive maintenance logs and cost records for all vehicles and trailers.Conduct Defensive Driver Training for all drivers.Track and record all safety training sessions.Perform ride-alongs with drivers to assess and improve their driving habits.Evaluate driver candidates' abilities through ride-along assessments.Consult with drivers and offices on DOT requirements affecting loads.Manage DOT reporting and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.REQUIRED SKILLS

Proven experience in fleet management, transportation safety, or a related field.In-depth knowledge of telematics systems and their application in fleet management.Strong understanding of DOT regulations and compliance requirements.Excellent organizational and communication skills.Ability to conduct training sessions and performance evaluations.Proficiency in maintaining detailed records and generating reports.Valid driver's license and clean driving record.WORKING CONDITIONS
